The Event’s Goals

Our goal is simple to raise funds to provide more Kansas City children the opportunity to learn to play a violin or cello. Sprouts K.C. provides instruments and five years of lessons free of charge to expand access and opportunity to children in their neighborhoods. This year we expanded to add two new after school sites; El Centro and Asbury United Methodist Church. We continue at our after schools sites at Holliday in KCPS and KCK Early Childhood Center. We are also providing 6 classes to students in KCPS during the school day.

Music education opens doors. As one Sprout parent said: "The best part about participating in the program is the feeling that they are getting a head start not just in music but in life."
Each year we use Giving Tuesday… or as we like to call it, Giving Violins Day, to raise money to purchase instruments, accessories, and instructional materials. Stringfest
is the kick-off event for our campaign. It’s fun, it’s lively and we invite you to join us and !
