Shaping The Future.....one note at a time
About the Event
Play your Part and join Heartland Chamber Music at our annual Stringfest where we combine the music and history of the KC West Bottoms with a lively party, all in support of String Sprouts.
The second floor of the historic Livestock Exchange Building is the backdrop for this kick-off event where guests can enjoy live jazz by legendary artists Bobby Watson and Gerald Dunn. Beer, wine, and tacos, but not quite your Mama's tacos....Elevated Latin Street Eats by Sancho Streetside! Exciting silent auction items complete the event!
Guests can don tiny violins, cellos and conductors batons as they enter the photo booth to Play their Part so Sprouts students can too!
The Event’s Goals
Our goal is simple. Raise $25,000 to purchase 100 violins (at cost) to serve more deserving Sprouts students like Layla pictured above. Sprouts provides instruments and five years of lessons free of charge to bring equity to music education in K.C. Music education opens doors. As one Sprout parent said: "The best part about participating in the program is the feeling that they are getting a head start not just in music but in life."
Each year we use Giving Tuesday… or as we like to call it, Giving Violins Day to raise monies to purchase violins. Stringfest is the kick-off event for our campaign. It’s fun, it’s lively and we invite you to join us and !
Individual Tickets: $ 35
